"Stability of alliances in the
world and political stability of institutions: these are the
fundamental coordinates within which the action of Friuli
Venezia Giulia, a region with a growing international
projection, moves." Governor Massimiliano Fedriga said this to
TEHA Club members at the meeting in the Region "Beyond borders:
the vision of Friuli Venezia Giulia for a strategic
international policy",proposed The European House Ambrosetti.
Fvg is "weaving constant and long-lasting relationships with our
privileged interlocutors, which are the United States and Japan,
but we are also looking to 'India and the Middle East, natural
routes for the port of Trieste, the first national port of call
in terms of traffic volumes," Fedriga said. The options on
alliances fit into a global context in which the governor
foresees continuing tensions and sharper polarization between
two sides. "Priority at this stage is to protect our
production chains by also activating nearshoring initiatives
aimed at ensuring the availability of essential components to
our companies at neighboring countries." Fedriga is of the
opinion that "the Western Balkans can play an important role and
in this sense goes, for example, the meeting held yesterday with
the Serbian region of Voivodina." Fvg "moves in tune with the
Italian system," he pointed out, "in this framework, the regions
can bring added value and play an important function that is
also qualified by the high index of stability they have in the
institutional profile compared to a national arrangement for
which the premierate, with differentiated autonomy, would
represent a healthy solution. Last but not least, the bet on
'hydrogen, while in Europe the automotive sector is suffering a
crisis. If the electric "risks exposing us to total dependence
on the Chinese market, other paths must be found in the medium
and long term, and hydrogen, with the advance on nuclear fusion,
is one of them."
